In The Spotlight - George Evans

I've been performing since about the age of 10, so around 5 years.
What got you interested in music / theatre
I've been interested in music from before i can remember, but only really got into doing shows when Jacob asked me to be in the Wizard of Oz with greasepaint. From there I went on to be in Ragtime and then joining Act One as well, now doing shows is something i couldn't imagine not doing.
What was your first show
Wizard of Oz with Greasepaint - I was Farmer Munchkin!
What has been your favourite show and/or character and why
So far, it has to be Willard in Footloose. Such a fun part to play and its always nice to have the audience laughing! As for shows, it's between West Side Story and Les Mis. Two great shows - I've been really lucky in that respect! However now I have Peter Pan to look forward to, which i'm sure will be one of the most amazing experiences i ever have.
What has been your most embarassing or funniest moment in a show
In an act one concert when a friend and I swayed the wrong way to the rest of the cast, and we were at the front!
Describe the best and worst costumes you have had to wear
Willard's costume was brilliant, cowboy boots and hat - I never wanted to give them back!
In the same show I had to wear a gym outfit - like one you'd wear at primary school. It took me back - but wasn't exactly the most flattering of the ones I've had!
What has been your proudest moment
Every show is great to be a part of and i'm always really proud come the end, but my top moment has got to be singing One Day More in Les Mis. It was such an amazing song and the whole show was such a joy to be a part of.
If you could choose any show to perform in, what would it be and why
I'd love to be in Beauty and the Beast (possibly playing Lumiere) or Grease. I'd also really enjoy being in Les Mis again and maybe get a chance at playing a more senior part like Javert or Marius.
Do you have any plans to pursue theatre as a career
I'm not too sure at the moment, I've thought about it but never really came to any conclusion. I've got time to think about it though!
