In The Spotlight - Ella Evans-Puttick

Ella Evans-Puttick How long have you been performing in shows
I began to take part in shows about 4 years ago when I was the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz with New Youth theatre although I started with greasepaint when I was 11 which was only a year ago in Peter Pan.

What got you interested in music / theatre
I have been dancing since the age of 4 and when I did a school show, I realised that I actually quite liked drama so I decided to find a drama group and it all went from there.

What was your first show
My first real show was the Wizard of Oz when I was the Wicked Witch of the West which was really good and fun but I have also been in school productions like Cinderella and The Wild, Wild West (something about west?)

What has been your favourite show and/or character and why
My favourite show has been Seussical becauseit was really energetic and fun and the costumes were amazing but I think my favourite character has been when I was Annie in Annie as it is the biggest role I have EVER had.

What has been your most embarassing or funniest moment in a show
My funniest moment in a show was in Peter pan when I was brave because my belt kept falling off, one time right in the middle of the dance so a lot of improvising was needed. My most embarrassing moment was when me and my friend in New Youth theatre were finishing the dance to Holding out for a Hero in Footloose , when we both fell off the tables we were dancing on.

Describe the best and worst costumes you have had to wear
My best costume was my brave outfit in Peter pan because it look really authentic and real. My worst costume was my wig in Annie- it was literally bright orange.

What has been your proudest moment
My proudest moment was at the end of the Hired Man when moots of the audience were standing up and crying because I knew that we had just performed our last show but it was the best we had ever performed.

If you could choose any show to perform in, what would it be and why
LES MiS because it is one of the greatest shows EVER.

Do you have any plans to pursue theatre as a career
No but I would like to still carry on with amateur dramatics.
